Hello, my name is Leanne. I’m a researcher and creative based in the Orkney Isles.

I work on projects that explore the social impacts of emerging digital and energy technologies; and consider ways that we can make these technologies work for us and the futures we want to build.

On This Site

I bridge speculative design with pragmatic implementation: from leading community energy projects in Scotland to exhibiting futures work at global institutions. On this site you will find theoretical and speculative design work exploring these themes; alongside applied work that I've done with community organisations.

You can browse a selection of my projects across these domains, or view my full CV for a detailed breakdown of my experience.

Key Research Themes

  • Data & Digital Justice: Exploring data infrastructure and its interactions with community processes.
  • Community Energy: Working on applied community energy projects.
